Combine that with being on the losing side of demographics* and insurrection and treason seems to be their only choice.* Probably the single best explanation as I can come up with too. I remember one of these conservative posters write here that a republican will never win the WH again because of demographics...aside from the fact that it's non sense, the statement betrays a certain resigned-anger that could explain the crazy notions they come up with.
