While it is true that TCO is what matters, SSDs will not necessarily reduce TCO dramatically for all applications. For some applications SSDs will displace HDDs completely and the TCO should drop dramatically. There could equally be some applications where SSDs are used for performance but HDDs are still required for storage and the TCO does not drop much. The speed of penetration of SSDs in the enterprise will depend greatly on the mix of applications.
