Let's ask one of those experts, Wharfie or Landshark. Wharfie is more scientific [Landshark will just write "schlock", "you are not scientists so don't try to calculate how much heat the ocean can hold", "Yawn!", "you guys are morons".

Hey, Wharfie, how much more heat can the ocean hold than the air can for a 1 degree Celsius temperature rise at the current temperatures? Would you say it's 2.5 times as much, 3 times as much or 3.5 times as much for each kilogram? I'm estimating about 1000 x as much heat can go in the ocean compared with the air to raise each 1 degree Celsius. But maybe it's 3000 x as much.

Do any scientists you know have a peer reviewed paper giving the answer? I guess they do since it's crucial to the temperature rise we should expect due to Global Warming.
