re: a friend who is a strategic consultoid for networkers thinks CS may have growth problems

I dabble with the networkers and hold a small postion in Ascend. I am not sure CS is long for this world. Their purchase of DEC's Networking division does not give me confidence in the competence of CS management. Something about a company losing market share buying another company losing market share just doesn't sit right with me.

CS may get bought out but I'm not sure who would want it. I am a "bottom fisher" but CS is too speculative for me.

Pierre I just don't see that, WDC going to $15. WDC has no debt, good product recognition, the best technical numbers in the enterprise storage business and excellent management. Valueline is now estimating earnings of $2.32 for 12 months thru 3/31/98 and with only 1/2 previous growth of 41% that puts the stock at $46/share. Can't really see it going much lower. If it does I will double my position again. I believe this is a fantastic buy at these rates.

You *tripled* your position.

Wow.

!

Do you know something I don't?

This thing looks like it's going to hit $15 easy. 98 PE is 60!

P.S. I'm not on top of the networkers but a friend who is a strategic
consultoid for networkers thinks CS may have growth problems, he
warned me away from it.

some technical-related stuff: a friend of mine works as a network admin in goldman sachs. they used CS equipments and say the equipments suck. they plan to dumped CS and turn to other vendors for network routers and switchs. that friend of mine dumped CS a while ago.. and i dumped CS right after i heard that..
