"pharmaceuticals like thalidomide ?"

Yes. Since corrected. Science is concerned with finding what works and why it works and happens. We now know that there are problems with Thalidomide--just as we now know that lead has some drawbacks, and that leeches are not always the best cure! :-)

SO? We don't kill birds and rub blood on our ears and toes anymore, either--and that is the point. Science must always grow and learn. The Demon theory of superstitious nonsense medicine will take us no farther!

HA!
