For a little morning mirth, the Tony award winning "Book of Mormon" opening on Broadway

When one thinks back to Joseph Smith the treasure hunter his magic "seeing" crystals, his concocted use of barely disguised plagiarized Bible stories completely cobbled together that was all part of the 18th century American revivalist zeal from which so many new Christian sects were born. (or reborn).

Everything is plausible when you hitch your wagon to the previous supernatural train & legend at the right superstitious times, you will be rewarded with your own planetary system when you die if you climb to the highest order.

(Right next to God's planet and have many virgins too...i forget what the women get ?)

And here is the Book of Mormon
lds.org

This is a complete rambling farce that anyone can see was made up by some 27-30yr old plagiarist repeating the same lines over & over again. Interesting from any literary standpoint? Absolutely not, this is totally verbose repetitive, plagiarized gibberish. You can tell just what Joseph Smith's grandma's views were who probably should have gotten a credit for part of the authorship.

14 But behold, the Jews were a a stiffnecked people; and they b despised the words of c plainness, and d killed the prophets, and sought for things that they could not understand. Wherefore, because of their e blindness, which f blindness came by looking beyond the g mark, they must needs fall; for God hath taken away his plainness from them, and delivered unto them many things which they h cannot understand, because they desired it. And because they desired it God hath done it, that they may i stumble.

15 And now I, Jacob, am led on by the Spirit unto prophesying; for I perceive by the workings of the Spirit which is in me, that by the a stumbling of the b Jews they will c reject the d stone upon which they might build and have safe foundation.

16 But behold, according to the scriptures, this a stone shall become the great, and the last, and the only sure b foundation, upon which the Jews can build.

17 And now, my beloved, how is it possible that these, after having rejected the sure foundation, can a ever build upon it, that it may become the head of their corner?

18 Behold, my beloved brethren, I will unfold this mystery unto you; if I do not, by any means, get shaken from my firmness in the Spirit, and stumble because of my over anxiety for you.
