I also "cannot participate further in this rally through any addition of capital." My reason for this, though, is slightly different than yours. My reason:

I'm 100% invested in my equity portion, and my asset allocation is overweighted in equities by approximately 15%. In other words, I'm all of the way in the market, and more. I just can't put anymore into equities.

Good call on 1987. I was about 50% out of the market going in to the 1987 crash. Fortunately, I put in the other 50% into the market on the afternoon of the very low, during the panic selling.

P.S.: The person in the office next door got margin calls and was forced to cash in his entire portfolio that morning. He was burned badly and never got back into the market.
