Gov should be pro business....

Businesses do not elect Govt and hence their bosses are not the businesses. The Govt. is elected by the people, which I am sure you know as well. Hence any Govt. should work for the boss (the people). They need to ensure the welfare of the people in general (the goal). achieving this through a competitive environment is just one instrument to achieve that goal.

Probably with regards to police and firefighters I would agree but not everybody else. This is one of the reasons I side with the Dems these days. The trend since Reagan became president pretty obvious.. Pendulum shifted too far for most IMHO
