Art, I agree with much of what you say (although I would say that IBM has become less "techy" than your typical tech company since it started emphasizing services) and I, too, am comfortable with SanDisk's current situation.

In your list of points I would say that there is a lot of uncertainty in number 5. We really cannot tell whether SanDisk will prosper in the post-NAND environment although management seems to be quietly confident while dropping occasional hints that their 3D ReRAM details are not settled yet. [I think and hope it means that they have something workable but are continually looking for improvements but I do not recall them ever quite saying that.]

Not being able to see clearly more than a few years out is exactly the kind of problem that causes some long-term investors like Buffett to avoid tech stocks.
