"With NOK just getting serious about ramping up in Q2, I'm guessing NOK will double units sold in US in Q2 if not surpass the 1 million mark."

Agree here-- my most optimistic WAG is for NA shipments to be about a million (combination of 928, 521, and 925 channel fill).

"PS. Difficult to reconcile units sold to the posted share numbers."

Agreed. Although the discrepancy I noted is Nokia's units shipped vs. (an estimate of) total WP units sold through share. Lots of potential for error here, which is why I am reluctant to believe Kantar wholeheartedly.

Calendar Q4 2012, the peak quarter for US smartphone sales, was 18 million units, not 20 million. Apple's global iPhone sales declined 22% in calendar Q1, so this these market share increases for Nokia are the tip of the iceberg. Q2 might have them closer to 10% in US share.
