If I have time I'll have a look. My main interest in NAND stems from SIMO, so their big concern is primarily unit growth, not price level or bit size. It will also be interesting to see how they get included in the next generation 3d NAND stuff, although I think it's way way out in the future for them.

My previous comments on how it is possible to not meet demand were just theoretical. NAND will be for sale, if demand goes up and supply does not, it seems that what should happen is price increases to reduce demand to the appropriate level. The idea that demand could not be met doesn't make much sense in a market with a flexible price. But that was just shooting the breeze for me, it's not a big interest of mine.

Who is Kipp Bedard?

Re: micron.
Still expecting them to begin paying royalties.

Sam, thanks for posting the Micron link. The 3 items I found most interesting were:

  1. No idle capacity: this comment indicates that Bedard believes that Toshiba has already restored full NAND production.
  2. Planar vs. 3D NAND: it sounds as though Micron is closer to SanDisk's path than that of Samsung and Hynix.
  3. Paying down debt to improve the balance sheet: suggests they will be cautious regarding capital spending.
