Might as well show my ignorance yet again. "Price action is random. ET flow is random. When these two diverge the power to contradict arises. "ET flow is a measure of what people are doing in markets. Price isn't. Most active traders sense price isn't, but they blame this on big boyz, or algos, or MMs, " So ET flow would blow like a flag in the wind, changing directions daily, hourly or dynamically. However should ET flow show some consistancy or trend, over some time, you might glean interest in the security. Separately look at price. Should price sustain some trend at the same time as a consistancy of ET flow materialize you can say "O thats interesting" depending on how each relates at that time to one another. So there might be then 5 outcomes they are random Positive Price and positive ET flow negative Price and positive ET flow Positive Price and negative ET flow Negative Price and negative ET flow I'm just guessing here, but the length of time these elements remained consistant would provide strength of that trend? Or the actual degree of movement of each element in a shorter time frame? So in all 5 cases the only thing I might explore is why are they doing what they are doing? If I had some hypothesis about a company I would hope either ET and Price movement were random or matched my expectation of company events or expected events. A chance to see if market forces seem to agree with my overall assessment of some situation? Wouldn't that look a bit changing weather patterns? I would prefer holding on to things for years how would this help? Or do these elements have sustained patterns? Just trying to apply your comments to the miners I brought up.
