slightly off topic* Martin, i have been following your replies...you clearly understand what's going on and how to make sense of what to me is very complicated. A question in reference to your "one stop shopping comment" - what do you know about PSINet - and how would their capabilities fit into this one stop shop concept with some of the larger tech companies? thanks in advance and keep giving them hell

this is not a credibility issue for me, it is your credibility that is now in question, nice language (the four letter words that is, and now I am smiling). You posted information that for all intents and purposes read like ramblings from a poorly educated technocrat, disguising himself as an engineer. I attempted to give you the benefit of the doubt saying that you may have been educated in a foreign country and that english was your second language.

In my case I have long since been removed from the environment you say you inhabit, large communications centers, and can now bask in the luxury of knowing that I do not have to challenge anyone, either personally or technically. Nolonger have to read complex technical books to get my jollies, or to memorize long technical words that impresses people. Do it for fun now! Yes I am an engineer and yes I also have a degree in computer science. But it does not make me any better investor in this area. Quite the contrary I think it can be a millstone around our necks. We think we know to much.

I am looking for information, not an intellectual gunfight.

As for your statement that Worldcom needs hardware from CSCO or COMS etc, not true. Time moves on and nothing is static. If you don't believe it ask the Swiss who at one time controlled 95% of the world watch market. They invented the electronic watch but since it did not have a main spring sold the rights to the japanese. The rest is history. Could it happen to communications and networking..Duh!!
