Yousef,
Re -- BTW, sorry to hear that you were "duped" by Brian.

Yousef,

I was never "duped" by Brian. I believed in AMD and the K6 and still do. In fact, I don't even believe that I was duped by Jerry. Not even AMD could have foreseen the extent of the yield problems that they were to encounter. And, AMD has certainly shipped real product; they just haven't made any money at it, and this is the only relevant point. Finally, I did not expect Intel to have the will to lower prices as much as they have. The problem with their gamble on trying to lower prices to the point that they drive AMD and the other competition out of business is that they never expected National to buy Cyrix. So, no matter how long or how hard Intel tries, Cyrix will always be there! Intel will have to keep prices low in the consumer and corparate workstation markets FOREVER. Well see if they can make money in the high end server market alone. It doesn't matter, though.

Pravin.

Yousef, re:<my assessment of AMD technology is that their IC processes
are a generation behind Intel ... 2 speed bins behind Intel>

Will you change your mind if AMD has the first 266 MHz notebook chip?
(i.e., 1 speed bin AHEAD of Intel)
Will you change your mind if AMD has the first 300 MHz notebook chip?
(i.e., 2 speed bins AHEAD of Intel)

If your answer to either of these questions is, NO or you refuse to answer, then your assessment isn't worth the time it takes to read it.
