Sure, we have text conversations, therefore it is social.

I still request an opt-out option for the Facebook "like" behavior.

To be more specific -- the ability to rec a post anonymously, just as everyone could for the past decade or so, and the ability to keep notifications from popping up or appearing about recs to posts I made.

Once a week or so would you post how many Recommendations were made daily or over the week, so we can see if the Beta or new Public policy on Recommendations has led to more, fewer or no change in the number of Recs? A chart would be enough, we don't need to see the actual counts.

Roughly, what has been the trend so far?

You might want this in relation to total posts, as a percentage of posts or per logical number, such as per 1000 posts or per 100 posts.

'SI is a social site'

If the gentleman from Nevada wants to turn Silicon Investor into a latter day Facebook, that is his perogative, being the new owner. He will fail, IMO.

I don't need a Facebook experience.

I know, if I don't like it, i can log off and leave.

Which I am doing, right after I click on "Submit Public". This is no longer the site I have used since 1997.
