LOL, just tell them to stop bellyaching and get on a bike with you and they will all feel a lot better.

I did a five-year stint of helping with elderly infirm parents. It went OK all things considered but having it behind me is the only upside to their being gone. Given a choice....I tell people to cherish their time with parents regardless if times are good or bad.

That's got to be so depressing. Now don't get me wrong, a little commiseration is nice, but way too many folks go overboard. I have to imagine it's more pleasant to talk about art, books and movies, and get out and do stuff, than to bitch about your joints.
