LOL!

My wife shot the television once by accident. It's a little B&W.
The thing actually got better reception after it was shot. You might
consider it, just don't hit the picture tube.

Tom, I am in complete agreement with you on TV-- but though the spirit is willing.... I'm a news junkie but even that becomes insulting. good luck, fred.

Have to agree with you fellows about the state of TV journalism. I returned from living in Europe 2 years ago and we decided against getting a TV. Halfway through NFL season I caved in and bought a small tube but did not purchase cable. Seems like evening news has "evolved" into sensational garbage. Same goes for the newspapers. I remember when papers presented news rather than spun it.

However, my digust with these forms of media led me to radio. It is a wonderful medium because it is real time. If you disagree with what's being said on TV then you have no avenue for discourse. With the newspapers, you can write a letter and maybe it will be printed a week or two later after everyone has forgotten. However, with talk radio, when you disagree with what someone says you can call up the station and debate. It's a great forum for the exchange of ideas (not necessarily facts).

LOVE RADIO! I just wish we had better financial programs up here in Canada. I'm going to have to buy a shortwave so that I can pick up Bloomberg. As for now, I find my best source for HK news is what I can dig up on the web.
