[chat-buy-out timetable]

Pat-

In the 14D-9 from AMTX, I noticed something interesting. In June DMG was retained to be financial advisor. "Thereafter, DMG contacted over fifteen companies, including TI, to determine interest in a possible business combination or other transaction with the company." FIFTEEN companies were contacted. It looks like the stock was trading around 12 1/2 - 14. I can just imagine, non-disclosure aside, what was going on behind the scenes. 'Psssst, promise not to tell, AMTX's looking for someone to combine with(bail them out)." It just seems to me that when you tell 15 companies to keep a secret, more than one person is 'only going to tell their best friend', who tells their best friend, 'yadda, yaddda, yadda'. At least that's the way it was in 6th grade and why it seemed that everybody knew the dirt before I did.

Regards,
Ed...

[ckfr]

Pat:

Glad to hear you're onto Checkfree. It's my second largest holding after TXN. They should be at breakeven by the June quarter, and it's onward and upward from there. Some good discussion on the CKFR thread as well. Is it "Great minds think alike" or "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds". Hope the former.

Best regards,

Charlie
