once you allow agencies like the NSA gain these capabilities and powers, it is very difficult to get the toothpaste back into the tube. It is just the way they operate.

Which is why everyone should support smaller government.

It is a "stupid argument", then you proceeded to make essentially the same argument -- that once you give these people unbridled power, they'll abuse it.

One can certainly argue that GWB should never have had this power and perhaps that is true. But it was more justifiable then, than now.

The same can be said about FDR's internment camps. Looking back on it, it was clearly pushing the limits. But he did what he felt he had to do to protect the country. We wouldn't think of internment camps today and no president could get away with it if he tried.

When you say, "Stupid argument, the toothpaste is out of the tube" you're effectively says, "the government is beyond our control." It is a great admission from a big government guy like you.

Now, what are you going to do about it? I think it is a great day for you to take back your life from an out-of-control government.

True but this is what you've been supporting all these years. Big Government.
