Jim,

Re: "What's saved Intel so far is their great process technology,
ability to yield chips at high speed ratings and the ability to stay one step ahead of the
competion with the Pentium II ..."

Well Jim, you finally have gotten it right ... Intel not only has the best
process technology and yield, but is also the lowest cost producer. I would
much rather have Intel continue to focus on maintaining these "core competencies" than chase the <$1000 market. Intel will stay 2 speed bins
ahead of AMD/Cyrix due to their IC process dominance ... make excellent
margins on the highend desktop, notebook and server markets. These are
the markets that AMD is trying to reach ... and can't due to their poor
execution and poor process technology/yield. I think the worst thing
that can happen to AMD/Cyrix is for Intel to decide to own the <$1000
market, because Intel can actually "Make It So".

Make It So,
