It was the result of many years of God’s people reading, using, and responding to these books. The first Catholic council of Nicea took place 1125 years before the first printing press. The second Catholic council was 667 years before the first printing press. The bible created by the Catholic Gutenberg was not written in the common language but in Latin. Even if you could afford a bible estimated at three years wages you would not have been able to read it. It was for the privileged and educated only. Holy Mother Church to her credit knew if people like you got their hands on a bible it would just be a source of endless confusion.
