If people were paid a living wage they would not need to shop at Walmart.

Are you still going to deny that you are a communist? In a free market people are paid according to their contribution. Marx wanted people to be paid according to their needs. You are saying the same thing as Marx, yet you claim to believe in democracy.

Mr. Rat,

Now - tell me how solar panels in California are going to stop the growth of CO2 emissions? Perhaps slow a bit -but at what economic cost for nothing.

"Coal remained the fastest-growing fossil fuel, with China now consuming the majority of the world’s coal for the first time—but it was also the fossil fuel that saw the weakest growth relative to its historical average."

Walmart lets anyone who walks in the door shop there. Costco charges a $55 annual fee to get inside the door. Liberals like that ... it keeps out the riff-raff.

An intro into the truth koan... Mr Market (as in free market) sets the wage for all.

Not Mr Marxist.

I agree that you and wharf rat should dip into your dotage fund to help them out. Maybe you could sell hotdogs and pop outside the front door to help out.

If you force businesses to pay what you consider a living wage, then you price a lot of people out of jobs.

Make something more expensive, and all else being equal less of it gets bought. That applies to labor as well.

Well I guess some of that would shift to the grey and black markets rather than to unemployment. People would work off the books because no one would hire them on the books (esp. if they have to pay health insurance in addition to the "living wage".)
