It is two different conversations. 1. Is Obama following the law? Yes, as far as we know at this point. 2. Are Dem hacks being consistent in principle? No, neither are Repub hacks for that matter.

If Bush complied with FISA, that would not have assuaged the protests from the left no matter how much you pretend otherwise. Even after Congress gave the approval in 2008, that did not change the core arguments against it from civil liberty organizations like the left-wing ACLU. But he didn't ... so if you are worried about abuse of power guess which of the two administrations would be more vulnerable. One who operates in total secrecy or one who briefs congress and accepts oversight by FISA? Al
