i remember you from some ages ago, and as i recall you left to some university way back to australia. so of that's true, then about 10 years ago? 7-8 years ago?

you seem to be back.

anyway.. you used to be part of an earlier conversation back then, which, as predicted back then, is still the same conversation today.

which is to say............. in the big macro umbrella, nobody from then was on the wrong course per se, and they are still not as the crow flies.

what do you think.

Hi John,

I remember when Meredith Whitney made her call on the looming crisis in the state of the muni & state gov bond market and how dire things were looking and then the market proceeded to go on quite the run with the Fed on the stimulus gas pedal and no thoughts about any risk

Looking at the data available and doing some back of the envelope calculations, its pretty easy to see how things will turn out in some of these based upon trying to analysis on the cash flows just like when you are looking at how a private company is run. Even though they have the ability to raise revenue by taxation or fee increases in some cases the numbers just don't add up by actuarial standards in some of the more risky areas.

I just think that Meredith was early to the party and her warnings mostly fell upon deaf ears.

Good trading
