It may not be much to look at, but this car parking space in San Francisco's South Beach has just sold for $82,000.

The 8ft by 12ft space in an enclosed garage near the San Francisco Giant's ballpark was sold for the astonishing amount less than two weeks after it was put on the market.

Although $82,000 seems like a lot to pay for a place to leave the car, the city's real estate agents say that parking is a solid investment in the crowded city.
