Yes I would buy Toshiba with no hesitation. If you want Windows 7 Pro, you will have to stick to business laptops.

Alex, I would suggest your grandson look at the university bookstore to see what they sell (and service.) I would not be surprised to find that Apple PC's are a mainstay, as I think most college students seem to prefer them over Windows PC's.
