A rather amateur effort. For example, they have population just carrying on up, but as predicted by your personal perspicacious prognosticator, Peak People will be in 2037, or earlier if Teotwawki or H5N1 or the like decimates the population in war and disease. For example, how are Egyptians going to eat in a famine? Syria's population is falling due to carnage. Japan's is falling due to contraception. Let's assume they have been correctly measuring IQ, which seems dubious given the agreement that the Flynn Effect is a fact of life. The mean IQ falling doesn't matter much. What really counts is the continued success of those at the very high end of the range who invent the amazing things on which we all depend, such as the Theory of Relativity, the CDMA Fourier transforms, and the Google algorithms. A few people can invent those and, hey presto, 5 billion or 100 billion average to imbecilic people can enjoy the benefits. In the numbers game of the human gene pool, simplistic averages, means and medians don't matter. The gene pool cloud is just the launching pad for the right stuff which is gradually filtered by eugenics into the individuals who really make things happen. Eugenics [by women and Darwin awards] keeps removing the bottom 5% of the male population which keeps upward pressure on intelligence [and other genetic factors]. With food produced by the megaton by smart people, along with everything else, the most hopeless people can continue to live who would have died decades ago. Obesity is now a problem for the less intelligent [mistakenly called "the poor"]. So average intelligence can fall [if that's actually happening] even while upward pressure continues due to eugenics. With intelligent Japan's population falling and unintelligent Nigeria's rising, it's not surprising that the average of the two combined is falling, even while the average in each country continues to rise. Add up all countries and the same thing applies - the average of all can fall while the Flynn Effect average in each can continue to rise. That is probably a bit tricky for those less inclined to arithmetic to understand; women especially who choose intelligence but are not so good at it themselves [their SAT maths results demonstrate the problem]. Africa, Islamistan and India have been breeding like bunnies and their averages are low intelligence. Italians, Japanese and others with higher intelligence have not been breeding so enthusiastically. So the averages are being pushed down. That process won't continue for many decades. Malthusian final solutions await and there is pressure on many people and has happened from time to time even as the horrible famines of bygone times are not common though are in living memory. 7 billion people in a one-way vast experiment is unlikely to be without some major problems as have always happened in all previous experiments.
