And once again, your memory has conveniently failed you.............you forget that ice intended for NOLA ended up in ID and MD; that trailers were left rotting in Arkansas instead of used in NOLA; that the medical ship left port several days after the disaster and did not get to NOLA until 2 weeks into the disaster; that while NOLA drowned, Bush was raising $$$ in San Diego by playing his frigging banjo.........the list goes on and on, and had nada to do with Blanco. No, I remember all those things. But I also know why they happened like they did. The situation with the ice was simple: They ordered 200 Million lbs, which was far too much. As FEMA was busy with more important things, there was indecision on what to do with it and they ended up shipping it all over the country to be used for future disasters. Not complicated. Obviously, a failure, but a minor one. The FEMA trailers were a similar situation -- in an effort to arrange housing for 100,000s that local government FAILED to deal with, FEMA quickly bought those trailers. But as new trailers do, they had a strong odor of formaldehyde. Poor planning on FEMA's part? No. They were reacting to a situation unlike any that had ever occurred in this country. Huge waste of money? Sure. If Obama had been president, none of these excuses...........and they are flimsy excuses........would have been acceptable to you. The rescue operation was such a mess Bush had to fire its director midstream who had been shopping at Nordstrom's looking for a blue shirt so he would look good on national teevee. You forget that it was NOLA that finally woke up Americans to how bad Bush really was as president and was to be followed by the worst recession since the great Depression. You talk about NOLA "drowning", but fail to acknowledge that THOUSANDS were saved by the swift action of the Coast Guard. The "drowning" of people in NOLA is on two people: Ray Nagin and Kathlene Blanco, who flatly refused to follow Bush's recommendations (which ultimately became DEMANDS). If you had the slightest desire to be other than ignorant you would read up on the subject. I spend a lot of time in NOLA, and I know what the facts are. You don't know shit about it. Yeah, you always are the one who spends lots of time on subjects but knows next to squat. Your BS gets old........very old.
