I2. A lot of what I do is required by my personality. I have found that talking about stocks and listening to others does not agree with me. I tend to be a private person, I guess. To some extent, I do not have that problem in this forum. However, I rarely discuss specific stocks and I am fairly vague about my technical analysis.

I am a perfectionist. I do not believe that I should make any mistakes. For example, before I take a position, I will read 10Ks, 10Qs etc. If I analyze a stock incorrectly, I am being sloppy. I simply have no excuse for that. There are things within my control that I must do correctly to be successful. If I do not, then I am depending on luck. This probably has its basis in my trading in the 70s. It was hard to make a buck trading back then if I made mistakes. So I just stopped accepting sloppy work from myself. Since I am not perfect, I do make mistakes though. When I do, I ask myself if what I am doing is right for me. If it still is, I will remember the mistake and try not to repeat it. If it is no longer right for me, and I become prone to mistakes, I walk away.
