Seems the entire project underfunded up to 60% plus many parts of the line won't be the high speeds originally predicted.

CA will find a way to cover the underfunding. As for the lower than hi speeds, that's the first I've heard that claim.

But that is a minor point. The great demand and need is within the metro areas and streetcars fit on many levels to also spur economic activity.

Have you ever taken a drive on I-5 between LA and SF? In many areas, its mostly a parking lot. When I moved, it took me over an hour to just get out of the LA metro area. I believe there will be hi demand for hi speed rail went it become operational.
