There are others on the thread who are much more qualified to discuss this than I am.

Let's see, slacker711, pyslent, Kurthend and others. My knowledge of the subject is pretty shallow. I didn't get a cell phone until around 2009, and even then it was a prepaid unit. All of the familiarity I currently enjoy with cellular transmission technology has been from following their discussions on this thread.

I wish. The vast majority of consumers barely know what 3G is, much less the differences between LTE and LTE Advanced. Look at how well the iPhone 4S sold at Verizon despite not supporting LTE.

If the carriers demand it, it wont be that big a deal for Apple to supply the technology. It isnt like they will need to switch baseband suppliers. Qualcomm will be supplying the baseband in the S4 Advanced as well as the iPhone 5S.

My guess is that Apple will wait until the iPhone 6 is launched.

I am curious where you expect to see a real world benefit from LTE Advanced.
