It's not ignorance that is leading to this sort of stuff, because I guarantee you that the assholes already know the facts of life. Instead, it's hatred. And getting rid of the hate begins with the heart, not the head.

Ignorance has never been about lack of information. Lack of exposure to certain life experiences maybe, sheltered life style with infused bias maybe, fear definitely, deliberate definitely. The root word for ignorance is 'ignore' and it takes a very committed devotee to be able to ignore the facts of the relative equity and acceptance of diversity in modern society...and then maintain the constant push of racial hatred directed at white men.

Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity. (Martin Luther King Jr.)

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal of sharing of misery. (Winston Churchill)

and you are very gullible if you bought this>> tejek flaming racial hatred with an obvious lie. Every time, really? The only way that could possibly be true in modern times is if everyone was in on a bad joke to pull on a guy that was obiously too stupid to get it. tejek makes this woman seem stupid, and uncultured and everyone but him is a Latina hating racist, chyaa right. The BS meter still hasn't stopped ringing.

a Latina and an attorney in my office...Every time she stepped away from me some asshole would come up an asked why I brought my maid to the party or asked if her name was Maria. For two hours I worried someone would say something to her and ruin the fun she was having.

Racism is indeed ugly. But I see no sense in continuing to focus on the ugly. The good news these days is that racists have for the most part been relegated to the shadows, and they only dare to come out when (they think) no one is looking or they won't suffer any negative consequences for spreading their hate. As for the racists in positions of power and wealth, well that's just the "good old boy" network that is the way of the world. And I firmly believe that network is destined for a fall.

In the shadows? They are hanging Obama in effigy from trees. R pols are sending racist emails and tweets. In right to carry states, men with guns have stood outside where Obama was speaking. The gov of AZ stuck her finger in Obama's face in broad daylight. Legislation has been passed in red states that can be construed as racist and violates our voting rights. I am unclear why you think racism has retreated to the shadows.
