Hi Maurice,,,, overall excellent comments.... One note on China.... as you know the top 10 cities have insanely high levels of air pollution and various contaminants.... much worse than the US.... Europe etc.

A major study done recently by Chinese doctors, indicate that the widespread air pollution and generally high carcinogens found are producing the negative impact of premature birth ( and as we know... the ninth and final month of a baby being carried in the Mom's womb is when significant advanced higher brain cognative development occurs.

( This is why the WSJ has run articles from the Harvard Brigham and Young hospital in Boston encouraging the affluent women of the US to not induce labor 1 month earlier as the final month of pregnancy is very physically taxing on our ladies).....The Chinese researchers have also found that this air pollution is causing lower birth weights as well as mal developed systems ranging from the circulatory system to hand eye coordination.... and then the babies over the first 3 years living in this toxic stew.... suffer additional early damage that keeps them from optimal physical and mental development and increases the chances of a variety of maladies in later life.... So it would appear that Dr. Darwin is a "Fair and Balanced Guy" who gives with his right hand and takes away the benefits of Chinese Eugenics with his Left.

And when you get out into the outback of China, the lack of proper nutrition, medical care... clean water, sanitation etc...all are net obstacles that even the playing field.

Have a blessed day,

John

ps as to moving around the country and the world... as an oil brat I can tell you that it is very difficult to get very well established and happy in a community such as Mendham and have a group of great school friends , and have family friends and relatives and then leave them behind...... you in essence sever what have been life lone relationships to move to say Houston for High School.... where you go through the process again... and develop great friends in Houston and in Austin... and then leave them when you move to Sydney Australia for 4 years... and have to replicate the process again....... and of course this really impacts seeing your relatives if they are predominantly in the tristate area of New York.

And the if you were to fall in Love with Sydney and have a fantastic Job with a highly promising career, yet due to Visa issues have to come back to the US and by that time..... Manhattan and Brookside New jersey are calling you again leaving behind a fiancée and a very close network of friends and ... when all this happens before the WWW and at a time when you can run up a $400 a month phone bill talking to friends and relatives in Australia....

there are pros and cons...... Maurice I have developed a broader deeper global perspective and have seen the world through the way that Corporate cultures such as Exxon, Citibank, Chase Manhattan (JPM), UBS, Morgan Stanley.... Ace Corp etc..... and traveling and moving when one is growing up teaches invaluable skills that can not be learned in any other way. But there are significant trade offs.

I find your initial response to be on the cavalier side..... but then again you have not walked a mile in my shoes ...nor I in yours.

So let's be friends and no need for one upsman ship........ One thing that one becomes very proficient in is the gentle art of verbal and communicative self defense and also the hanging around and interacting with so many professionals ...including those in my parents circles enables one to become very adept at mind games and spin....and the art of being able to run people around in circles by setting up logic loops and having them stake out a position and then immediately taking the opposite position and see how quickly they can go through the chain of logic and lateral thinking....
