Thats the way I read it also. There will be lots of turnover in the next month, especially in the retail channels.

The modem manufacturers will turn the marketing depts loose shortly!

What makes you say that? You don't think that COMS took into account the extra-push from the X-mas season when they explained their forecast to the street? These "standarized" 56K modems won't be ready in time for Christmas.
