This time not only the market is over-valued but also going wild and crazy (number of reasons cited inearlier posts).
Some so called experts may be cautious but I have not seen many experts predicting a downturn of any significant amount, in fact most are saying we will go up from here.
A lot of the bearish discussion I have seen is on some SI groups
with caution.
I agree that it is not possible to time the market, what I am seeing here in some of the cases is that people are evaluating the fundamentals of the market based on the current economy and will take appropriate positions in the market based on that outlook which is quite healthy.
In fact, many posters here beleive in their conviction (e.g. Mohan, defrocked who have declared what they have done with their portfolios)
and seem to have consistently held their portfolios through adversities in tune with their thoughts and analysis and I think will be big winners in the long run,
although some seem to be trying to time it which is OK but can get hard when things go against the positions.

Jim I've been burned and learned the same lesson. What I do now is move non pure equity $ into Fidelity Asset Mgr while waiting for something to get real cheap (which there always seems to be) rather than cash and with interest rates drifting lower for some time now the returns have been excellent.
