Options Trade If anyone cares, I sold 1/3 of my Feb 30 position for 4 3/8 on Friday (at a 100% gain). I have changed my mind about the very near term for IOM (yes, I reserve that right :) ). I think that while January should be good for IOM with earnings and new computer models with Zip installed coming out, December may not be. I decided that this weeks action reminded me too much of the stagnation of the stock price early this year. No interest, lack of volume, slow drop. IOM seems to have lost its momentum. It appears that there is a growing fear lately of competition, and IMO it has been a more legitimate fear than before. If the Sony drive is priced very aggressively (<$50), it could pose a problem. I am not too worried about this though. More important for now, however, is the competition with Jaz--this could hurt IOM's stock in the short term. If people see that IOM is not currently selling the best product in this arena (and, IMO they are currently), it could weigh on the stock. I do think that if IOM does nothing about this it is likely that the Orb or the Sparq could beat out the Jaz because of their compelling prices. Maybe I'm underestimating Jaz's installed base, though. I am very interested in what the Dr. will have to say about Jaz and competition. Anyway, I'm holding onto my shares with both hands (a much larger position, of course) and I have confidence in Iomega. Also, I have never bought IOM for the Jaz, just for the Zip. The Jaz is not a long term concern of mine. I may buy those options back in late december (hopefully for less?) or at about 3 1/2. Brendan
