Right now, we have a government that presumes to tell us what kind of light bulbs we ought to use, just to pick an example. The government shouldn't do that. Shouldn't tell us what kind of cars we ought to buy or what kind of health insurance we ought to buy and etc etc etc.

The government regulates virtually everything you touch, every day. Why? Because if left to their own devices, humans would always screw each other with inferior products to make an extra buck. They would sell you cheap light bulbs that create far more heat than light, cost you more in the long run, cost society much more, just because you're too dumb to reckon the difference.

Why do you think wherever more than a few humans gather, in any geography, the first thing they do is create layer after layer of government? The first thing we do is trade liberty (and taxes) to protect themselves from each other. If its such a bad idea why do we keep doing it, and how did the species do so well?
