AT&T is doing some really strange things of late. I had a static IP. One day the service just stopped working. After several hours on the phone talking to people all over the globe and not finding anyone who understood what a static IP was, I cancelled the service. I started using Verizon's hotspot to get online with my laptop but that proved to be very expensive, so I tried AT&T again to see if I could restore the service. They wanted $200 to install a new line (My original DSL was installed in 1990) and $100 for the modem/router. So had to go with Time Warner cable.
