Dippy, with 40% in cash, what is your total portfolio (less realestate) return for 1997 through today or 12/1/97? I'm curious if all your trading gives a better result than doing Bob's fairly easy strategy of asset allocation and 100% invested in the market.

For my time/money, I'm roughly 50% mutual funds and 50% stocks where I try to pick one or two really good value winner stocks each year that I do NOT sell unless fundamentals change and then stay 95% invested overall. Overall, I was ahead of the market for '93-'96 this way and am just a bit behind this yr: This is an old link, but gives an idea and the market is about at the same place....Interesting that BB's portfolio returns are what they are.

Interesting List of individual stocks. Although I don't own it, JNJ is the kind of company that I just can't seem to resist. How big of a "trough" are you waiting for on this one?
