‘Offensive to Muslims’: Dem congressman calls on FBI to take down photos of terrorists

06/20/2013 by Gabe Finger

Rep. ["Bagdad"] Jim McDermott penned a letter to FBI Director Robert Mueller Wednesday claiming a Joint Terrorism Task Force ‘Faces of Global Terrorism’ ad is racist.

McDermott, a Democrat from Washington state, voiced his “deep concern” about the ad, which shows mug shots of international terrorists, and asked the FBI chief to “reconsider publicizing” it.

According to McDermott, the “ad featuring sixteen photos of wanted terrorists is not only offensive to Muslims and ethnic minorities, but it encourages racial and religious profiling.”

McDermott continued, “Representing terrorists, however, from only one ethnic or religious group, promotes stereotypes and ignores other forms of extremism. The FBI’s ‘ Most Wanted Terrorists List‘ includes individuals of other races and associated with other religions and causes, but their faces are missing from this campaign.”

McDermott’s point is that two of the people on the FBI’s thirty-two person ‘Most Wanted Terrorists List’ do not have connections to Islam.

McDermott concluded that the “bus ad will likely only serve to exacerbate the disturbing trend of hate crimes against Middle Eastern, South Asian, and Muslim-Americans.”

McDermott, who has represented the Seattle area for 24 years, has a long history of unguarded commentary. In the past he has argued that victims of targeting by the Internal Revenue Service brought the trouble on themselves, that the government should issue “ gas stamps” to lower-income Americans, and that the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act stimulus could be used to deliver groceries to outer space.

The Congressman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

NPR’s new headquarters refuels funding debate
........................................................................................
By Paul Farhi, June 21, 2013
washingtonpost.com

View Photo Gallery — A look inside NPR’s new headquarters:?In NPR’s view, the building on North Capitol Street is efficient and cost-effective, but some question its $201 million price tag

NPR’s gleaming new headquarters building in the shadow of the Capitol in Washington has soaring ceilings, a 24-hour “wellness” center, an employee gym and a gourmet cafe staffed by a resident chef.

This, as it turns out, could be a political problem.

Open since April, NPR showed off the 400,000-square-foot complex to members of the media earlier this week. It immediately began drawing some grumbles from those who see the edifice as far too luxe for a nonprofit radio and digital-news organization that depends, in part, on taxpayer support. In effect, the building briefly became a new club with which to beat NPR over an old issue: Whether public radio and television should be subsidized with federal and state funds.

The rumblings began after the widely read Drudge Report linked to a rather innocuous account of the news-media tour from the Web site FishBowlDC, which described the building’s features.

Soon, the blog- and Twitter-ospheres were percolating with denunciations of the building’s cost and alleged excesses.

“They build a ‘News Palace’ and they still need taxpayer dollars?!?”
tweeted Jim Farley, vice president of news for WTOP, the all-news radio station in Washington.

A blogger known as the Lonely Conservative sniped, “Who wouldn’t be jealous of working in such a lavish space, especially when one’s tax dollars help to fund” it?

And Michael Savage, the fire-breathing conservative radio host, took to his microphone to rail against the “incomprehensible” nature of NPR’s new digs. “They just opened a new building, NPR,” sneered Savage on his syndicated show. “A new building they’re showing off how wonderful it is in Washington, D.C. You will not believe the edifice they built for themselves. It’s astounding. You cannot believe what they gave themselves at NPR. .?.?. How much money did that cost to build?”

Answer: $201 million, or a bit more than NPR’s annual operating budget of $174.7 million in fiscal 2013.

But is that excessive? In NPR’s view, the new building on North Capitol Street is both efficient and cost-effective, particularly compared to its former headquarters a few blocks west on Massachusetts Avenue. NPR, with 840 employees, said it had outgrown the old building, which was increasingly decrepit and costly to maintain. The building is now being torn down.

“The reality is, we had to move,” said Emma Carrasco, NPR’s chief marketing officer, in an interview. “When we looked at the possibility of retrofitting our existing buildings and consolidating [into the old headquarters], it really wasn’t feasible. So building a cost-effective building was the most prudent decision for us. We based it on pure economics and our staffing and technological needs.”

What’s more, NPR officials point out, the new headquarters wasn’t financed with tax dollars, at least not directly. The organization raised funds through a combination of tax-free bonds, individual donations and the proceeds from the sale of its old building.

In addition, the District granted NPR $40 million in tax abatements and froze property taxes on the site for 20 years as part of a deal to keep NPR from moving out of the city. NPR had considered a site in Silver Spring.

Buried within the text of the Amendment is a seemingly innocuous provision:

(f) APPLICABILITY OF CERTAIN GROUNDS OF INADMISSIBILITY.—In determining an alien’s inadmissibility under this section, section 212(a)(9)(B) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1182(a)(9)(B)) shall not apply.

What does that mean?

Current law states that those applying for green cards are ineligible if they are either "illegally present" at any point or overstay the terms of their work visa. Such an immigrant, in current law, would have to return to their home country and restart the immigration process. The Corker Amendment wipes away that enforcement mechanism.

In the current draft of the Corker Amendment, any worker in the country on a legal work visa for 10 years can get a green card, even if they overstay their visa. The Corker Amendment allows immigrants to break the law in the future and still be eligible for citizenship. It absolves prospective behavior, not simply past mistakes.

Prior to the Corker Amendment, the 4.5 million immigrants outside the country on a visa waiting-list were subject to laws restricting their presence in the US. The Gang Senate bill would offer them immediate green cards, as long as they hadn't violated current US Law.

The language in the new Corker Amendment referenced above, however, would remove this restriction. They would become immediately eligible for a green card, even if they lived illegally in this country.

The Corker Amendment wipes away any immigration enforcement
. It is designed to maximize the number of individuals who qualify for citizenship.

The Corker Amendment is an obvious attempt by the DC GOP establishment to find a path to vote for the Senate bill. It throws a lot more money at the border, but it also weakens internal enforcement and controls.

The Corker Amendment actually stipulates that, in perpetuity, you can break the law, overstay your visa, and still be eligible for citizenship.

IRS Sent $46,378,040 in Refunds to 23,994 ‘Unauthorized’ Aliens at 1 Atlanta Address
........................................................................................................................................................
(CNSNews.com) - The Internal Revenue Service sent 23,994 tax refunds worth a combined $46,378,040 to “unauthorized” alien workers who all used the same address in Atlanta, Ga., in 2011, according to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA).

That was not the only Atlanta address theoretically used by thousands of “unauthorized” alien workers receiving millions in federal tax refunds in 2011. In fact, according to a TIGTA audit report published last year, four of the top ten addresses to which the IRS sent thousands of tax refunds to “unauthorized” aliens were in Atlanta.

The IRS sent 11,284 refunds worth a combined $2,164,976 to unauthorized alien workers at a second Atlanta address; 3,608 worth $2,691,448 to a third; and 2,386 worth $1,232,943 to a fourth.

Other locations on the IG’s Top Ten list for singular addresses that were theoretically used simultaneously by thousands of unauthorized alien workers, included an address in Oxnard, Calif, where the IRS sent 2,507 refunds worth $10,395,874; an address in Raleigh, North Carolina, where the IRS sent 2,408 refunds worth $7,284,212; an address in Phoenix, Ariz., where the IRS sent 2,047 refunds worth $5,558,608; an address in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., where the IRS sent 1,972 refunds worth $2,256,302; an address in San Jose, Calif., where the IRS sent 1,942 refunds worth $5,091,027; and an address in Arvin, Calif., where the IRS sent 1,846 refunds worth $3,298,877

Deliver Us From Evil: Black Professor Spews Hate
..................................................................
by Lloyd Marcus June 24, 2013
americanthinker.com

Lord, deliver us from evil. I was appalled hearing black University of Pennsylvania Professor Salamishah Tillet say during a panel discussion on MSNBC that pro-lifers' opposition to late-term abortion is really about white-power racism.

Minority birth rates are up. Nutty professor Tillet believes those who oppose white women killing their babies are fearful of a decline of "whiteness, white supremacy, white privilege." It takes a pretty sick mind to find racism in desiring that women not kill their babies.

By the way, Americans aborts 4,000 babies a day, of which a disproportionately high number are black. Planned Parenthood was founded by racist Margaret Sanger to fix "the negro problem."

"We don't want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population," wrote Sanger.

Liberal blacks like Professor Tillet and Democrat so-called advocates for black empowerment ignore the blatant racism of Planned Parenthood. Heck, they even cheer Planned Parenthood on. With friends like Professor Tillet, Obama, and his Democrat posse, black America does not need enemies.

In his speech praising this vile organization which targets black babies, Obama said, "God Bless you" to Planned Parenthood. Around half of black pregnancies end in abortion. Apparently, the first black president is down with self-induced black genocide.

Research confirms that at the current rate of black abortions, the indigenous black man is near extinction.

Meanwhile, ill-informed blacks keep looking over their shoulders, fearful of conservative Republicans.

The fact that a vast majority of blacks continue to vote Democrat confirms that blacks are still falling for liberals urinating on them and telling them it is raining. Whenever blacks recognize the smell of urine, liberal media and Democrats tell clueless blacks that racist Republicans are the source.

As a black conservative, I know that Republicans are real friends of blacks. Democrats who say blacks are too stupid to acquire a photo ID and have for decades replaced live-in fathers in black homes with government, aren't. Thank God a few prominent blacks are beginning to wake up and smell the Democratic Party betrayal.

Two truths were exposed during Professor Tillet's remarkable chilling words on national TV. One: the visceral racial hate against whites that is pervasive, tolerated, created, and nurtured in liberal academia.

How many students have been influenced by this hate-filled racist black professor at a cost of $50,000-a-year tuition?

But folks, teaching students to hate whites, particularly white males, begins in middle school and probably earlier.

Around 15 years ago, a white friend of mine said her son came home from middle school extremely upset -- in tears. The poor kid was devastated, suffering with overwhelming guilt for being white after learning all the horrible things white men did to blacks, women, and Native Americans. His liberal agenda operative teacher actually implied that he should feel guilty.

Today, that same kid, my friend's son, is a twenty-something-year-old zealous member of the Communist Party. He believes that white males and capitalism are the greatest sources of evil in the world. Yes, I do believe that public-school indoctrination contributed to this young white man's self-hatred and hate for his country.

A second truth exposed in the MSNBC panel discussion is the slavery of political correctness. I am sure that at least one of the whites on the panel was thinking in response to Professor Tillet's remarks, "This sista is crazy." And yet, no one challenged Tillet's outrageous proclamation. The white liberals on the panel knew their place. Political Correctness 101: whites are forbidden to challenge "liberal" blacks.

Now as for black conservatives, well, it is open season on them. As a matter fact, white liberals get a gold star beside their name for every attack on a black conservative. White liberals are granted permission by fellow liberals to "freely" use the n-word. I have been called a "stupid self loathing n-----" for loving my country, being proud to be an American, and not viewing myself as a victim.

Professor Tillet has a history of promoting wacky, far-left, and racist ideas. In a sane world, Professor Tillet would be fired. A white professor expressing similar ideas in reverse would have been long gone.

Tillet is paid to infect the brains of our youths while conservative thought is banned on most campuses. Whenever students successfully sneak in a conservative speaker, the guest speaker is physically attacked, with pies thrown at him and worse during his speech.

Black pundits, comedians, actors, and professors are given a pass and even celebrated for making racist, hate-filled comments about whites.

Meanwhile, the slightest slip of the tongue that could possibly be interpreted as a racial slur against blacks has ended the political and professional careers of numerous whites. Such unfortunate whites are tarred and feathered in the mainstream media -- forced to beg for forgiveness while humbly bowing and kissing the rings of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. What a sickening visual.

Folks, Americans agree that racism is wrong, which a majority have expressed by electing a black president. But somehow, black America is given a pass, allowed to be racist. This is wrong and evil. Racism should not be tolerated from whites or blacks.

The American education system is infested with hated-filled racists who hate America as founded. I am talking the likes of professors Salamishah Tillet and my friend's son's middle school teacher.

Passively continuing to allow and fund their access to our precious kids is insane.

Quoting Susan Powter, the '80s fitness guru, America, it's time to "stop the insanity!"

The spectacle of a 29-year-old computer geek armed with a laptop and a credit card racing across the hemispheres, eluding the FBI, the CIA, the TSA, the IRS and the rest of the alphabet soup available to the president, taunting the entire U.S. Government to catch him if it can, has much of the rest of the world applauding, cheering and laughing.

This is also something new in our history, the world laughing at the ineptitude of the United States.

Bigotry on Display: MN Democrat Rep Ryan Winkler Shows his True Colors
...........................................................
06.25.13 by Jennifer Burke
tpnn.com

Today, the Supreme Court struck down a part of the Voting Rights Act that mandated that state and local governments have to seek federal permission to change their voting laws. The striking down of this provision does not take away the right of black people to vote. It simply acknowledges states rights.

It was, in fact, this provision within the Voting Rights Act that forced state and local governments to seek federal permission to change their voting laws that gave Attorney General Eric Holderthe power to challenge voter ID laws in certain states. His continuous argument was that these laws were racist. Never mind that you have to have an ID to buy alcohol, cigarettes, and Sudafed. He took race baiting to a new level by accusing those states, which fell under the umbrella of the Voting Rights Act, of not wanting black people to vote.

I have contended for quite some time that the left’s love of black people ends when that black person does not walk in lockstep with the Democrat line. If they DARE to be a conservative, then not only are they fair game, but they are then open to ridicule, condemnation, and attack from the left. These attacks will just roll off their tongue with such ease that it is disturbing. In the case of MN State Rep. Ryan Winkler, a Democrat, the racist attack rolled from his fingers to the internet via his computer.

Notice, he singled out one Supreme Court justice in his attack on this decision
.

His reference to Clarence Thomas as ‘Uncle Thomas’ is not just a racial slur. It is a racist attack. He did not say ‘Uncle Antony’ in reference to Justice Scalia or ‘Uncle John’ in regards to Justice Roberts.

He intentionally singled out and mentioned one Supreme Court justice. The black one.
Calling Justice Thomas ‘Uncle Thomas’ is essentially not only accusing him of being a traitor to his race, but also feeds the flames of racial divide and racism.

Winkler quickly took his tweet down, but not before screenshots were taken by many. He was immediately and harshly called out on Twitter to which he had one of the most lame, disingenuous responses that I have ever seen.

Really, Rep. Winkler? Do you believe that the American people are so stupid that we would believe your ridiculous claim that you didn’t understand that ‘Uncle Tom’ was a racist term?

If you didn’t realize it was a racist term, then why did you single out Justice Clarence Thomas in your attack
on the SCOTUS decision? Your apology is weak. Your apology is lame. Your apology, at least by me, is NOT accepted.

Paula Deen is currently being lambasted by many, has lost her Food Network Show, and is currently losing many sponsorships because of a term that she used THIRTY years ago.
I can’t say what is in Paula Deen’s heart, but I do not know of any recent slurs on her part. But, many believe that her career should be ended because of an unfortunate thing that she said 30 years ago in recalling when she was robbed a gun point by a criminal.

You, Rep. Winkler, however, have demonstrated your deep -rooted racism in calling Justice Thomas an ‘Uncle Tom’. Your bigotry is apparent. Your disdain for conservative blacks is obvious. Your prejudice is disgusting.
If the people of Minnesota truly believed that someone’s career should be destroyed because of the words that they say, then they should begin recall proceedings against you immediately.
