ajtj,
I hear you knocking. i recognize that China is lacking in many areas. I deal with the mining industry quite a bit and where I'll go underground in pretty much any U.S. mine, I won't ever go underground in any mine in China.

Life is cheap in china. And that certainly includes the blatant disregard for the environment. To be clear, I am not advocating that taking care of the environment is not important. The old adage of "don't crap where you eat (or sleep) comes to mind.

What I was pointing out is that China does understand that they do need to produce raw materials to survive.

I don't envy China and I have talked about the bubble in China for a while. Their economy and political structure is corrupt to the core. It pretty much has to collapse eventually.

IMO This is why Smithfield foods was bought , and why I've invested in pollution control companies doing business in China. IMO The takeout of MPR by CECO aside from adding to it's portfolio of pollution control businesses was to participate in the growth of China's pollution control needs.

Your so on the mark. If China had the environmental regulations the US had. IMO-There would be enough backlog here for the next 5 years. Meanwhile due to the big use of coal. I think the Chinese in power know they have to do something. They have to breath the air to.

Obama doesn't like coal

Need I say more. US aside, China needs pollution control even more.
