These sheep (and the cattle, donkeys, women, etc.) were divided up between the soldiers and the civilians--except for 675 sheep and a share of the cattle, donkeys, women, etc. which was given to one man....Sleazey, the Priest. Why did he need 675 sheep?The text says he needed to give them to Yahweh as a Tribute. The text explains that the sheep were given to Yahweh as a "Heave offering". We have encountered this "Heave offering" repeatedly in the tribal tales of a people and their storm god, HAVEN'T WE???

I asked you if you had an alternative explanation in the second paragraph. When you offer evidence that the Priests only sacrificed donkeys and not the human prey--then of course I will admit to that very thing! I did hear one Christian apologist make a weak appeal to Scripture in order to explain what was done to the Heave Offering of the Virgins and the donkeys--but I found his explanation to be an opportunistic song and dance. Why else would you give the donkeys, cattle, sheep, and VIRGINS to ONE MAN (Priest Sleazey) to give a Heave Offering TRIBUTE to Yahweh?? Any ideas??
