If Hong Kong will have him, that seems a better bet than Iceland. <Iceland has said it held informal talks with an intermediary of Snowden over the possibility of seeking political asylum, but that he must present himself on Icelandic soil. >

At least from Hong Kong he'll be able to travel places, whereas in Iceland, he'd be trapped between Euroserfstan and the United Stasi of America.

A small jet isn't going to get to Iceland in one go. I guess he'd fly over China, Russia. But maybe a flight plan can be filed and the passenger not disclosed. Interception en route is a risk. Along with being in Iceland if they won't provide asylum BEFORE he leaves. Iceland could offer asylum then change their mind once he arrives. Like Saddam telling his two sons in law it was safe to return to Iraq, which they did, then were murdered. It seemed absurd that they were going to return. Then they did. I was not in the slightest surprised at the shootout and their deaths. I would have been surprised if they were not killed. What were they thinking?

It's suspicious that he has to show up in Iceland to be considered for asylum there. Hong Kong seems to be okay with it though he just showed up.
