Len, there is one quick fix for deciding what you really believe. Just take a second, close your eyes, concentrate on nothing but a moment of quiet reverence before this thing you are not sure is even there, and then ASK HIM. It's so simple a small child or a very slow person can make direct contact everytime. You just say something like: God, if you are there, and I don't believe you're there because it's very hard to believe. But if you are, will you do a miracle and show me. If Jesus is your Son, and if Jesus came to earth as He said, will you please show me. Jesus, if you are real and other people have a relationship with you, then please come into my heart and I give you permission to change my soul, and my mind and my heart. Now, Len, I will promise you. Do that and in a few months let me know what has happened, if you have any desire to do so in any way. It is none of my business in the first place. But if you will do that, you may find it is like Africa. Africa is there, but the only people that know Africa are those that have been there. The rest of us can only guess and talk about it. Oh, and look at pictures. At least there are pictures of Africa for those that love it. Can't say the same for God and Heaven. Faith is belief in THINGS UNSEEN. Faith comes by hearing. Hearing comes from the word of God. Jesus was the Word. In the beginning was the Word. And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. After all this is real, Jesus becomes the only reality. You cannot live an imagination. You can imagine an imagination, but you cannot live it. Nor can an imagination change lives and create a protective bubble and do miracles. But faith can. It's all hard to explain, indeed. But we are here to talk about God amongst ourselves, not to beat you over the head until you scream o.k., o.k., I believe. I was once witnessing very very heavily to 4 Apache indians in downtown Phoenix. They were way over to the side of some free Christian lunch thing in the park and I went way over to them. It turned out to be the sweetest 20 minutes of my life, and I can still see their faces. One said he was an Apache "holy man". Actually, he was a young drunk in a bad city for Apache indians off the reservation. But they were on their way to work on Sunday, so they were trying very hard. I remember how he was staring into my eyes, like he really wanted to know if I was for real, and I said, "I know you are a man of God, and He loves you. A man of God listens to things of God and every word is interesting to him. Other men don't, because it's not interesting at all." And we prayed and they went on their way, walking half turned around, with their palms turned up toward me, just like in the movies. I still pray for them, and I love them.
