Basically, that's what they are doing. It's probably not all that hard to do - since all those concepts are rooted deeply in our culture. Unfortunately every bill of goods sold by every con-artist or organization starts with "for your and our good". I have noticed, unless one is crooked, this is hard for an individual to do. But put a group of people together, given them an agenda, a flag, a power structure and then you suddenly have an organism that has consumed their humanity. I have no explanation for this phenomenon but it is all around us.
