Whatever entities are screwing with it have the plan that when the beach ball rushes to the surface, only they will be long gold (of any consequence). According to many sources, hedge funds have accepted nearly all the shorts from the commercial bankers like JPM, so it apparently is a very easy game to rig for a few months at least. J6P will arrive on the game late as usual, prodded on by bullish calls from every corner esp. GS, and the final spike will allow them to get short to rinse and repeat. I think the next major correction phase will be much shorter, however, ala the 76 to 80 run.
