He hasn't ended the stimulus. He is simply talking to prepare the markets. I think the economy will be able to handle higher rates but if it didn't the fed will continue the stimulus. The market is not going to crash here. All this is actually positive for stocks but only after the dust settles and the fear of higher yields abates.

Bernanke has a shot at going down in history as the guy who took away the stimulus too early., IMHO,


Perhaps I have wax in my ears but I heard him say they could actually increase QE if needed to boost inflation and lower unemployment which are both short of their targets.

I also hear the rumors that Ben wants to go back to academia where more people kiss his ass as a tenured professor than stab him in the back as is the case with politics. Rumor is inflation dove Janet Yellin is the affirmative action candidate in the wings to take his place.
