The UK is worse, you can't go to the bathroom there without a CCTV recording it.

No kidding. The Vatican has restricted travel for foreign nuns to the UK because of this.

The nun never ***** in the British empire.

Yes, it's not just the USA where Big Brother socialist suffocatocracy and kleptomania are gaining ascendancy.

Helengrad is not just a cute name - named after Helen Clark. Edward is not heading for New Zealand because freedom is a highly circumscribed pale shadow of its former self, though there is some fading light with the likes of High Court Chief Justice Helen Winkelmann explaining to the police and government that they cannot do any criminal thing they like simply because they are the current bosses.

Extradition protection here is not so good, though Kim Dotcom has avoided it so far thanks to Helen Winkelmann.

Enemy of the State was a good movie: imdb.com The reality is more banal but reminiscent all the same. The NSA is after Edward. But Vladimir now has control [apparently], possibly briefly. "Extradite this list of Russian emigres who we wish to capture and we will consider the case of Edward Snowden". China could have taken a similar position. Hong Kong did not act with urgency to capture Edward, preferring to let him go on his way. The Cyberwars against China and Hong Kong were probably not persuasive to Hong Kong and China that they should meekly comply with USA demands = BTW would you also hand over this list of people we would like to interview.

Sweden wants to hand Julian Assange over to the USA [or they would simply hold the interview they want with him over the phone or by going to London to speak with him in person].

The USA is especially dangerous though because they have long range Predators able to murder anywhere they like. Helengrad does not have that ability and culturally is not so attuned.
