Interesting thought Randy thanks a lot. No offense but I'm hoping for some Canadian Telco like what Byron came up with. Or like this one
fonorola.com

"The Company operates its own high capacity fibre-optic network covering approximately 3,500 km. The fibre-optic transmission system utilizes Nortel's SONET technology engineered in self-healing rings with 50 millisecond restoral capability. The Company has negotiated extensive right-of-way agreements with both Canadian National Railway Company ("CN") and Canadian Pacific Railway Company ("CP") and is currently expanding the reach of the network by deploying an additional 8,300 km of fibre-optic cable. This project will be completed in 1998 and will provide coast-to-coast transmission capacity to approximately 50 million people in Canada and the United States. The entire network will use an OC-192 transmission system providing users with low-cost high performance bandwidth capable of carrying voice, data and video simultaneously. "
