Pat - You are not alone. Most people have not heard of ORBI.

ORBI = Orbital Sciences Corporation: maker of large and small communications and scientific satellites; launch services provider with two of its own proven booster designs; operator, along with Teleglobe (Canada), of a soon-to-be-completed low-earth-orbit (and hence, low-latency-period) constellation of communications satellites; provider (especially after the acquisition of two GPS [Global Positioning Systems] companies, Magellan and the privately-held Ashtec of Sunnyvale CA) of high-quality geopositioning data and the associated ground infrastructure for mass transit and transportation applications; operator of two (more to come) revenue-generating photo and sensor imaging satellites; NASA and DoD space contractor, etc.

MacDonald-Dettwiler (Canada) is one of ORBI's many recent acquisitions. They are an established aviation, space, and defense company.

As you can see, almost everything ORBI does uses, or will use, DSP. Acquiring a (the?) leading DSP company would seem to be a tremendous coup . . . .
